Bungie will be reworking Iron Banner reputation soon, allowing players to maximise their farming potential and acquire the loot in what looks like a much better progression system.
Iron Banner is the source of some of the most sought-after loot in Destiny 2 but there were several hoops the players had to jump through in order to get it, besides the regular playtime that was required to farm it up in the first place.
There is the matter of the event happening only twice a season now and frequent Mercy calls were probably the leading cause of frustration in Destiny 2 PvP. Furthermore, there used to be the barrier of the Power level while the mode gave advantages for it but that rule been abolished.
Since the event will be rarer now, Bungie is offering players all the important tips to streamline their reputation farming when the new rules kick in.
First, there will be a streak tracker, meaning you will get more reputation the more IB matches you string together. On top of that, wins will net you a small bonus that is based on your current IB rank.
Now comes the fun part - wearing Iron Banner armour pieces or just Iron Banner ornaments will provide a reputation gain multiplier of 40 per cent, per piece. This comes out to a total of 200 per cent when wearing a full set of IB armour or ornaments.
Want more multipliers? complete the daily IB challenges to get up to 100 per cent multiplier for the rest of the week, for each challenge. If you equip an IB emblem, that will provide another 10 per cent bonus.
Granted, this system is less than ideal for newcomers who don't have all the IB gadgets but they will get them soon enough and the changes are looking to be great for everyone in the long run.
