Immortals of Aveum, a mystical shooter from Ascendant Studios, has been postponed for August 22. Thus we will have to wait for the debut of the first real Unreal Engine 5 game by one more month.

Ascendant Studios, the team that developed the next-gen shooter Immortals of Aveum, has informed us that they decided to postpone the release date of their debut work for one month, and now, instead of July 20, when the game was originally set to be released, the release date is set for August 22, 2023.

The extra time to polish the game is always appreciated, so in all honesty, this delay isn't a problem at all, especially considering all the partially finished products we can purchase on release day. However, the issue here is not the game's delay per se but rather the fact that delays were present in nearly all Unreal Engine 5 games, which makes us believe that something is not quite right with the new Epic engine.

Apart from Immortals of Aveum, the other UE5 games that have been delayed are Black Myth: Wu Kong and ARK 2, while the releases of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and The Day Before are completely uncertain.

Apart from Fortnite and Layers of Fear, Immortals of Aveum was supposed to be the first real Unreal Engine 5 game using the maximum potential of this Epic next-gen engine. Judging by the trailers we had a chance to see during PlayStation Showcase and Summer Game Fest, the game could be real eye candy once it is released.

In any case, we sincerely hope that this delay is not due to UE5 troubles and that on August 22, we will be able to play Immortals of Aveum on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC, where the game will be available.
