EA Javelin Anti-Cheat arrives in Apex Legends on PC September 29, while EA continues developing new systems to detect cheats on consoles.

Once again EA has decided to implement changes to their anti cheat for Apex Legends. On September 29th Apex Legends on PC will be switching over to EA's anti-cheat system known as Javelin. This will allow Respawn and EA to have more power when it comes to detecting cheats and cheaters.

This is being done because Apex Legends continues to have issues with cheaters on PC and consoles. While Javelin will initially be used as the PC protection system, EA has also confirmed that it is continuing to develop specialized tools aimed at detecting cheating on consoles.

Console Anti-Cheat Is Also Being Expanded

While Javelin will be implemented on PC, EA will continue to develop anti cheat solutions for Console.

EA states they have been working on additional data models and methods that can help identify cheaters on console. These updates come along with many other anti cheat measures that have been released for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2.

EA has also been targeting unauthorized controller hardware and software. EA added new anti cheat detections for cheating devices and programs in September.

The change gives Respawn and EA more control over their anti-cheat system while continuing console-specific anti-cheat development

What is EA Javelin?

EA Javelin is EA's in house anti cheat solution that they have been using on their PC titles. It is built to detect cheaters and help secure their games.

According to EA's most recent update Javelin is being used on 20 games and has helped secure 57.1 Million Players. EA has blocked over 26.7 Million Cheaters within the last year. They state they have been able to detect over 99% of cheaters.

By implementing this into Apex Legends, EA can have more control over their anti cheat system, while they continue to create anti cheat for their consoles.
