Rockstar Games will open GTA 6 pre-orders in just a few days, and retailers across the globe have already begun setting up their listings. Players can’t buy it yet, but placeholder pages are starting to go live online.
Retailer MediaMarkt in Europe just launched a GTA 6 campaign page with a teaser message, rather than a product listing. It’s another indication that Rockstar’s next biggest marketing push is getting ready to kick off. The highly anticipated sequel’s pre-orders open on June 25, so fans can expect to see more retailers flip the switch on their pages within the next few days.
Retailers have been gradually revealing their GTA 6 product pages over the past few weeks. Some, like Amazon UK, have detailed pages ready to go, while stores like MediaMarkt have created dedicated landing pages that read “something big is being created here". This is normal practice before a big game launches.
So here's how GTA 6 pre-orders currently stand:
- PlayStation Store/Xbox Store – Added to wishlist, but haven’t pre-purchased
- MediaMarkt – Placeholder page is live
- Multiple European retailers – Temporary listings/placeholders
- Amazon/GameStop/Best Buy/Walmart/Target – Still waiting
The odds of accidental leaks also increase with each new page. Remember how rumours about GTA 6’s pricing came from retailer placeholders? That was quickly shut down after it caused a massive panic on the internet for no reason.
Rockstar has also gone with underwhelmingly tight reveals in the past, so it’s doubtful we’ll hear about official pricing, editions, and bonus content until Rockstar themselves say something.
Considering just how much fans are expecting, Rockstar will likely unveil some new marketing if they don’t show Trailer 3 or the first gameplay reveal before having players fully preorder the game.
