Another day, another Grand Theft Auto 6 pricing panic. A listing spotted on Portuguese retailer FNAC has put a spread of supposed prices into circulation, ranging from €89.99 all the way up to €199.99, all tied to a 19 November 2026 date. Predictably, the internet has done the rest.
Before anyone starts budgeting for a €200 game, here's some much needed context. Retailer leaks of prices, editions and dates are common in the industry, and they're often placeholders rather than final figures. Nothing here is officially confirmed by Rockstar Games and the spread of SKUs looks more like a retailer's back-end filler than a real pricing structure.
A reliable leaker pumps the brakes
That's the view of well-regarded leaker billbil-kun, who weighed in to calm things down. According to him, the SKUs are placeholders, because the EAN codes (the European equivalent of a UPC barcode) don't match Take-Two Interactive's traditional game prefixes. In other words, the prices attached to them are essentially random.
His track record on this sort of thing is strong, so it's worth weighting his read heavily over a raw retailer listing.
The pricing question won't go away
That said, GTA 6's eventual price has been a talking point for years, and not without reason. Some analysts have argued Rockstar could push beyond the now-standard $70, pointing to the sheer scale and ambition of the game as justification. Whether the market would accept a higher number for a single-player-led release is another matter entirely, and a genuinely contentious one.
For now, treat the €90-to-€200 figures as noise rather than news. The real number will come from Rockstar, most likely as part of a proper pre-order announcement, which itself has been the subject of recent speculation.
Platforms and release
GTA 6 is currently set for 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. We'll update this piece if Rockstar confirms official pricing.
