Fallout 4 is getting a next-gen makeover, Bethesda announced today. The upgrade is set to release sometime in 2023, and as you may have already guessed, it will be free of charge for all Fallout 4 owners.
Bethesda revealed that the free update will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. It's certainly nice to see that Bethesda are still giving PlayStation players content now that they are part of Microsoft.
The next-gen upgrade for Fallout 4 will bring performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution, bug fixes and even bonus Creation Club content.
Xbox players have been playing Fallout 4 and several other Bethesda games at higher frame rates thanks to the FPS boost feature that was made possible with Xbox Series X|S. PC players can look forward to the bug fixes so it seems that the real winners here are the PlayStation players who had to struggle with 30 FPS gameplay.
All in all, it's great that Bethesda are giving their RPG a bit of love, certainly, players will appreciate that.
Bethesda are currently working on their next big RPG - Starfield. The game is coming sometime in 2023 to PC and Xbox Series X|S. Bethesda say Starfield is easily their biggest game ever and it's supposed to go back to the RPG roots of the iconic publisher.
