A McFarlane Toys product listing has name-dropped "Fallout 3 Remastered" as a branded property, and at this point it feels less like a leak and more like the universe is politely asking Bethesda to just announce the thing already.

Fallout 3 Remastered has just appeared in a McFarlane Toys product listing. The listing, spotted on ToyNewsI via Reddit, includes an Elite Edition 7-inch figure described as "Fallout 3 Remastered – #13 T-45B Nuka Cola." Merchandise listings have a long history of inadvertently confirming unannounced games before their reveal, and this one is fairly unambiguous. Bethesda haven't confirmed a thing, but the walls are closing in.

It's not as if this is coming from nowhere. The Verge's Tom Warren has reported that the game is still in active development, with Bethesda keen to ensure it's as well polished as the surprise release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered last year.

Windows Central's Jez Corden has also spoken to its existence on multiple occasions, and there are even reported plans to eventually remaster Fallout: New Vegas as well.

Could we get another shadow drop from Xbox?

In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Bethesda boss Todd Howard said that "I do like shadow drops... that is my preferred method" when discussing multiple Fallout projects. Given that Oblivion Remastered appeared out of nowhere last year to enormous success, and previously Hi-Fi Rush was another Bethesda-published title to shadowdrop, it wouldn't be a surprise if Todd and Xbox decided to do it again.

Fallout 3 wouldn't be my pick for a remaster but I certainly won't say no to it

Virtuos, the studio that handled Oblivion Remastered's visual overhaul, has been floated as the likely developer on Fallout 3 Remastered, though neither they nor Bethesda have commented. Iron Galaxy briefly seemed to tease involvement via a LinkedIn post showing a Fallout "Please Stand By" screen, before quickly walking it back and insisting it was unrelated to any Fallout project.

With a McFarlane toy now in the catalogue, it's increasingly difficult to imagine this staying unannounced much longer.
