Bungie decided to grab a few extra bucks in a somewhat sneaky way.
Destiny 2 players don't always read huge TWAB posts and the latest one was particularly huge. Since Season of the Deep is around the corner, that is nothing weird but having to sift through the wall of text is still a task many are uninterested in.
It appears that someone at Bungie may have thought this would be a good way to deliver the news of a price hike as it was only a small paragraph in an otherwise massive post.
Therefore, fewer readers saw it and paid attention to it.
The price moved from 1,000 to 1,200 Silver, which translates to $10 to $12. One of the caveats here is that Bungie doesn't sell Silver in 1,200 packs so you will have to buy at least 1,500 for $15.
Then come all the microtransactions the game has, the ~$200 fee of purchasing the currently existing expansions and the so-called "dungeon keys" which will set you $20 back for two dungeons per pack and $30 for the 30th-anniversary pack, which is basically a dungeon and a handful of weapons that become available for farming.
It is quite possible that I missed some of the things Bungie will charge you for but I believe that is enough to drive the point home, with the point being that the season pass price hike was unnecessary and milking the players this much is just disturbing at this point.
That said, checking across the Destiny communities, I didn't notice discussions about the price increase which may be the result of people not being aware of it yet, not caring enough to discuss it or moderators removing threads about the matter.
Considering what the community let slide in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if the 20 per cent price increase doesn't actually bother most of them.
