Cyberpunk 2077 is getting more features with the expansion and recently the devs offered a glimpse of what the vehicular combat will look like.
CD Projekt Red heavily overpromised on what the players will be able to do in Cyberpunk 2077 which is one of the reasons why the game is still getting new features almost three years after release.
One of those features is vehicle combat which was rather rare and lacklustre in the vanilla game but it will be improved in Phantom Liberty.
That said, everyone will get the update , not just those who purchase the expansion. Since support for PS4 and Xbox One has been dropped, those platforms will not be able to get the update.
Vehicular combat will be available in three versions with the first and most obvious one being simply shooting your handgun or SMG from a motorcycle or a car, be it through the windshield or from the side window.
CrystalDome tech cars can open the sliding doors, which will provide an easy way to force-feed your enemies a fistful of lead. Additionally, riding a bike gives you the option to use melee weapons to attack exposed enemies or damage the wheels of other cars.
If you are keen on some Mad Max or Deathrace-style modifications, you can mount weapons on nomad cars that use the CrystalDome tech. Gatling guns may not be as versatile as your own weapon but they will make up for it in sheer force.
Finally, the third way to get into vehicle combat is through hacking the other cars. Depending on the chosen hacks, you can make them explode, slam the brakes or accelerate uncontrollably. That last one sounds like plenty of fun and we have no doubt countless compilations of hilarious scenarios will pop up all over the internet in the days following the update 2.0.
