CD Projekt Red has officially delayed Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3, which was originally scheduled to release on June 26, 2025. In a message to players, the studio explained that the update needs more time, as the team continues to work toward a level of quality and scope similar to the game’s previous major patch, Update 2.2.
“We initially hoped to put Update 2.3 in your hands on June 26,” the message reads. “However, we'll need some more time to make sure we're happy with it - we're aiming for a scope similar to Update 2.2. We'll update you further as soon as we can.”
In case you're unfamiliar with Update 2.2, which arrived earlier this year, it introduced a range of improvements to the vehicle and character customisation, better photo mode and Johnny Silverhand as your passenger seat buddy while driving.
Since CD Projekt Red compared the two, it's safe to say that this will set high expectations for what's coming in Update 2.3.
What to Expect from Update 2.3
Although CDPR hasn’t detailed the full contents of Update 2.3, we expect additional refinements to Night City’s systems, bug fixes, and possibly a couple of new features.
It's certainly great to see CD Projekt Red still support their big game when they probably have their hands full with The Witcher 4, which is the studio's next big release.
