CD Projekt has launched Patch 2.31 for Cyberpunk 2077, a new update to the open-world action RPG which is already available now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. This new update is mainly focused on improving AutoDrive with vehicles in Night City, enhancing Photo Mode, and improving the immersion and consistency of quests by fixing a number of issues.
The AutoDrive feature is one of the main updates which players will likely be most excited about as it makes traversing Night City in vehicles a much smoother and natural-feeling experience for players.
In addition to this, the improved Photo Mode that CD Projekt has included with Patch 2.31 is much more cinematic, making it a much more viable option for players who love taking and sharing pictures of V within the game’s neon-drenched metropolis.
In addition to some of the key features, CD Projekt has also continued a trend of including stability improvements for a number of platforms, which is also a welcomed addition to the new update.
Smarter AutoDrive for Night City
One of the biggest changes in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.31 is the overhaul of the AutoDrive system.
Vehicles can now:
- Overtake traffic instead of stalling behind it
- Drive more smoothly without abrupt stops
- Ignore red lights for uninterrupted travel
- Follow traffic rules more consistently in Free Roam mode
Photo Mode Gets More Creative Freedom
Photo Mode fans will be pleased to know that several tweaks have been made to make this feature more dynamic and interesting. A majority of the poses that were added in previous updates can now be utilized by all the character genders.
NPC collision has been disabled for Photo Mode, and now characters can more realistically be placed on top of vehicles and other objects within the world. Several previously broken poses, including those of Royce, have also been fixed.
Quest and Technical Fixes Across Platforms
Update 2.31 also fixes several quests which were long plagued by various issues. Motorbreath and Nitro (Youth Energy) will no longer prevent progression or crash, and other quest-related fixes have been implemented to streamline dialogue and journal entry consistency.
In addition to these, CD Projekt also implemented a number of performance and visual tweaks across all platforms. For PC users, NVIDIA Reflex has been fixed and an issue with path tracing has been resolved.
Mac players will see the graphic presets option more optimized, while HDR support has also been fixed. Ray-traced reflections and vendor interactions were also fixed, and players can now lock and unlock the UI on their settings menu.
