Borderlands 3's latest hotfix will be live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC by 11:00 p.m. GMT on 30 January 2020. The hotfix will put the Rare Chest Riches event into action, fumble around with the drop rates and introduce permanent scaling for Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite.
To apply the hotfix, you'll want to hang around the main menu until a "Hotfixes Applied" sign pops up. If you fail to do this, you will not benefit from the changes. All issues and feedback can be submitted right here .
The True Takedown Mode:
The Borderlands 3 dev team has decided to make this Scaled event permanent starting today - 30 January 2020. An upcoming update will bring the option to re-enable the "True Takedown Mode" - the 4-player experience that the game launched with for extra difficulty.
Once implemented, a lever activating True Takedown Mode will be located on the right side of the door leading out of the airlock at the beginning of the map.
Rare Spawns and Drop Rates:
As soon as the Farming Frenzy event comes to a close, another permanent change will be applied to the Rare Spawns and Drop Rates. The spawn rate for these enemies will be increased forever. Their drop rates will also be buffed and their Anointed chance will be on par with the bosses.
The Rare Chest Riches Event:
After the hotfix drops, the Rare Chest Riches Event will be activated. The event will be available until 13 February at 4:59 p.m. GMT. During the event, all Rare Chests will drop rare loot at an increased rate. The drop rate increase will also apply when you watch a Twitch streamer open a rare chest, provided you both have the ECHOcast Twitch Extension enabled.
Any and all rewards you get your hands on while watching streams will be waiting for you in your Borderlands 3 mailbox next time you start the game up.
