Borderlands 3 is getting a new DLC soon but the players will get a mini-event to tide them over until the new content launches. The event titled Takedown Shakedown will kick off with a hotfix today and end with a hotfix on 27 March.
Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock DLC for Borderlands 3 is set to arrive on Thursday, 26 March 2020. The DLC with a name that just rolls off the tongue will bring the all-new ice world of Xylourgos along with creepy curses and crazed occultists to the wacky game.
In the meantime, the Borderlands 3 dev team, came up with a little event to tide you over. The event titled Takedown Shakedown will kick off today and have its focus on the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite.
The takedown Shakedown event will start with a hotfix and will end via another on Friday, 27 March 27 at 3:59 p.m. GMT. During the event, the mini-boss and end boss encounters in the Maliwan Blacksite will have boosted drop chances for items from their dedicated loot pool.
If you have recently acquired Borderlands 3 via Steam, you'll need to finish the game's main story campaign before you can unlock the mission that grants access to the endgame challenge of Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite.
Takedowns will scale in difficulty depending on your party size, but the event is intended for max-level characters who are sporting some powerful gear. A real test of a Vault Hunter's skills awaits in the True Takedown Mode. You can enter the mode with a full party of four Vault Hunters.
A series of similar mini-events will be rolled out during the coming weeks, and the big April events are still to come. The big events include Mayhem 2.0 and the next seasonal event, Revenge of the Cartels.
