Battlefield 6 will be the twelfth major instalment in the Battlefield series by DICE and EA. Here is everything we know about the upcoming next-gen shooter game so far.
EA and DICE are yet to officially announce the next Battlefield game but we know the official reveal should be coming sometime in the next few months. EA confirmed the teams are working hard to deliver the greatest Battlefield of all time and recently, Need For Speed studio Criterion joined DICE to help the development.
Anyway, as we wait for more official details, here is everything we know about Battlefield 6:
BATTLEFIELD 6 RELEASE DATE
Battlefield 6 should launch later this year, during the holiday season. This has been a traditional release window for the franchise and EA already confirmed in one of their investor calls that the game should be ready for launch in 2021.
BATTLEFIELD 6 ALPHA AND BETA ACCESS
We will get more information about the Alpha and Beta tests once the game is officially revealed but until then we know that the Alpha test for Battlefield 6 will be the franchise's earliest Alpha ever. This means you can expect Alpha in late May or early June 2021. As for the beta test, Battlefield V beta kicked off in September, so you can expect a similar beta window for the upcoming game.
BATTLEFIELD 6 PLATFORMS
At the moment, we do not know Battlefield 6's platforms but it's safe to assume that the game will launch on: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Google Stadia version is also a possibility.
BATTLEFIELD 6 SETTING
Reliable insiders and leakers claim that Battlefield 6 will be set in the modern-day. Recent rumours suggested that Kazakhstan could be one of the locations in the game but we are yet to get reliable reports that would confirm this. As we get closer to the reveal, more details will almost certainly surface potentially, revealing the game's setting.
BATTLEFIELD 6 GAMEPLAY
EA confirmed Battlefield 6 will be the biggest Battlefield game ever with a never-before-seen scale. EA CEO stated that thanks to the technical advancements of the new consoles, the team can now deliver on "a true next-gen vision for the franchise". Insiders revealed that the game will feature Levolution 2.0 that will allow players to destroy most buildings on the map , except for the ones where objectives are set. Additionally, players will be able to control the destruction, depending on the location where they destroy the building.
