EA have big plans for the reveal of the next Battlefield game, which is a modern warfare title, focused on what made Battlefield great - destruction and large-scale warfare, both of which look incredible in some of the leaked footage that surfaced online from the recent playtests.
The next Battlefield game does not have a title just yet but EA are set to reveal all those details at one of the big gaming events later this year. If I had to guess, I'd say we'll see Battlefield at the Xbox Games Showcase this June. Another possibility is the Summer Game Fest show, but I think Microsoft's event is a safer bet due to popularity and overall hype.
EA also said that their goal is to launch the next Battlefield game sometime in fiscal year 2026 (FY '26). This means we can expect Battlefield to release sometime between October 2025 and September 2026. "We remain firmly on track for an FY’26 release with a major global reveal later this summer," EA said in their earnings call.
EA say that over 600,000 players have recently signed up to test the new Battlefield which is why they will be expanding the test by inviting more players from Europe and North America. The tests will also begin to include Asia soon.
The publisher also stated that this is a major milestone for the development of the game, which has the biggest Battlefield dev team in history.
This will sound encouraging to Battlefield fans but I doubt the community will start the hype train since they've been burned before on a couple of occasions. Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 2024 come to mind.
Battlefield is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
