Hideo Kojima has retweeted Xbox Japan's post confirming their Tokyo Game Show broadcast, streaming from September 17 at 19:00 JST.
On its own, this would garner some interest since we're expecting to see more of Kojima's horror title OD, but the timing here is hard to ignore.
It comes just a few hours after Kojima confirmed that he's basically team Xbox now, with his tactical espionage game Physint having a new home under Microsoft's roof, following PlayStation Studios' cancellation of the project.
Kojima Productions has two active Xbox projects right now, OD and Physint, neither of which has shown meaningful footage publicly to date and there's certainly no better place to show off new exciting stuff from the legendary Japanese creator, than Japanese gaming convention like Tokyo Game Show.
Obviously, this is just speculation. Kojima retweets Xbox content reasonably often given the partnership between the two, and a single retweet isn't confirmation of anything on its own.
That said, the timing so soon after the PHYSINT announcement is a reasonable enough coincidence to raise the question of whether Xbox's Tokyo Game Show broadcast could include a first look at OD, an update on Physint, or nothing from Kojima Productions at all beyond the retweet itself. Nothing here should be read as confirmed until Xbox's broadcast actually airs.
Xbox's Tokyo Game Show broadcast streams live from September 17 at 19:00 JST, with an archive version also available afterwards.
