Panache Digital Games has released a new 1666: Amsterdam gameplay feature, introducing protagonists Noa and Aaron ahead of the game's launch.

Panache Digital Games recently released a new gameplay trailer for 1666: Amsterdam. This latest gameplay glimpse offers an extended look at the two protagonists and the bond they share throughout the upcoming narrative-driven action-adventure game.

It also dives deeper into the story while highlighting some of the supernatural elements and gameplay mechanics players will experience.16th century adventurer Noa carries on the legacy of an old bloodline of Zaindaris born to seek out the elusive creatures known as Originals.

She is soon joined by Aaron, a man who has been transported over 300 years into the past. The strange duo is balanced by the fact that Aaron does not arrive in his human form. Instead, he is stuck in the body of a cat. The two protagonists tackle adventures throughout Amsterdam by banding together to solve secrets of the past.

Noa and Aaron’s bond allows them to piece together aspects of a world-threatening mystery they otherwise would not be able to discover on their own. Each character utilizes their own strengths when solving puzzles and unraveling the story.

Players also get to see some of the magical tools and abilities Noa possesses in the gameplay reveal. Panache Digital Games has left players curious as to what other abilities Noa comes stocked with, but it is clear that magic and history will have a significant role to play as players work to solve 16th century Amsterdam’s deepest mysteries.

With Aaron’s ability to see the world through the eyes of a cat, there is sure to be more than one way to solve puzzles.

No matter what your play style is, 16th Amsterdam seems to have a little something for everyone. Helmed by Patrice Désilets, who is best known for his work on the original Assassin’s Creed trilogy, 1666: Amsterdam strives to focus on narrative, history, and the supernatural. Instead of highlighting combat as many games of this genre do, this latest gameplay trailer showcases the connection between Noa and Aaron.
