Halo: Campaign Evolved is now available globally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and PC Game Pass, though its launch on Steam has been somewhat more subdued than past titles in the franchise.
SteamDB shows Halo: Campaign Evolved hit a peak of 25,376 concurrent players about ten hours after launching globally. While that's higher than Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, it's far below previous Halo games on Steam.
Halo Infinite hit a peak of 272,586 concurrent players after launching in 2021, for example. And while Infinite had the advantage of a free-to-play multiplayer experience, Campaign also doesn't come close to Halo: The Master Chief Collection's lifetime high of 161,024 concurrent players after launching on Steam in 2019.
Reviews from players have also trended down since the game officially launched. While user reviews did spike up to Mostly Positive during Early Access, it currently sits back at Mixed, with approximately 68% of over 6,000 user reviews recommending the game as of this writing.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is currently Xbox Game Studios' 17th-largest launch on Steam by peak concurrent players. It edges out Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, but still trails significantly behind Forza Horizon 6, which continues to own Xbox's largest Steam launch with a peak of over 300,000 concurrent players.
Of course, Halo: Campaign Evolved's Steam players only reflect a portion of its total player base, as the game is also available on console and PC through Xbox Game Pass.
