Finding the flashlight early on in Sons of The Forest means cave exploration will be a much easier task, especially if you get your hands on a weapon or two. The flashlight can be found fairly quickly as you start the game - all you have to do is a bit of walking to get to the actual location where the flashlight is.

How to get the flashlight in Sons of The Forest?
Finding the flashlight is pretty easy since the location is between the three lights that are limping on your GPS. You can check out the screenshot below for an easier understanding of where the flashlight can be found.

Once you get there, you'll notice a dead man hanging on a rope. You'll have to climb up the rock and cut the rope so the poor guy and all of his equipment falls down to the ground. Then go below the rock and pick up the flashlight.
