Sons of the Forest: Zipline gun location

Zipline gun is one of the crucial items in Sons of the Forest and here is how to get it.

Sons of the Forest will require players to get two main items before they can acquire the rest that will allow them to progress the story - the rebreather and the zipline gun.

While finding the rebreather is quite easy since it's literally in the first cave you stumble upon, but Endnight placed the zipline gun in a cave further inland.

If you consider the helicopter crash site where you start the game as the southern part of the island, the cave with the zipline gun is located to the northeast.

Other landmarks nearby are the cave that leads to the bunker with the 3D printer, a point of interest marked as a green circle and the Compact Pistol, which is marked with a pink blip in the sea.

Once you get into the cave, you will face several types of mutants, including babies, fingers, blind mutants and twins. You will have to fight your way through them in a straightforward cave so it could be a good idea to save often by using a tarp and a stick for a portable shelter.

Make sure you loot all the human corpses and camps that are lit up as you will come across a..well, cross. This may not seem like much but it is very useful against a late-game enemy that can be found in lava caves.

Keep going forward until the cave starts branching out. In general, the path to the left will lead you towards the zip gun while the path to the right will get you some generic loot. Generic loot paths are very short so it's worth checking them out, looting and then heading back.

There are just two forks in the road so it's not like the cave is a labyrinth but the darkness can still be disorienting.

Upon turning left here, you will finally see the zipline gun as well as an already-created zipline. When you loot the gun, you can interact with the zipline so it transports you back to the cave entrance, at which point it's a matter of seconds before you go out in the open world again.
