After solving the first puzzle that rewards you with Moon Quartz inside the Chairman's Office in Resident Evil: Requiem, the second one to solve will be inside the East Wing, or more precisely, inside the Lead Researcher's Office.
There you'll find the Sun Quartz, provided you know how to open the puzzle box containing this quartz. If you don't know or are having difficulty doing so, we have a guide that will explain the process to you step-by-step.
How to Locate Lead Researcher's Office
Upon gaining access to the east wing of the Care Centre, you'll follow a quite linear path through the hallways until you finally reach the waiting room. After this room, you'll gain access to the staircase, and as soon as you reach the second floor, the Lead Researcher's Office is the first room you'll come across.
Once you enter the room, you'll be able to save the game and officially start the puzzle.
The Puzzle Solution
The puzzle box is located inside the second room you can access from the safe room. Inside this room, you'll find the similar puzzle box with a combination dial and some hints for the combination in the form of the pictures located on the desk.
If you examine two pictures closely, you'll notice that both of them show half of the combination, and if you combine both, you'll get the Star, Sun, Moon, Sun combination, which, by the way, is the correct one, but you know it cannot be that simple, right?
This is the right combination indeed, but if you try to enter it, you'll see that you cannot access the puzzle box because it is locked with the padlock. The document next to it explains that the key cannot be obtained, and the other solution is to destroy the padlock with the acid located inside the conference room.
If you check out the map, you'll see that the conference room is just next to the lead researcher's office. However, once you try to access it, a huge monster will emerge trying to kill you. To get rid of this monster, you'll have to play a little cat and mouse game.
Run downstairs and let it follow you to the waiting room. The monster will try to enter the room, and then it will keep going forward. All you have to do is exit the room and get back upstairs; simple as that. Once upstairs, make sure to pick up the ID Wristband (Level 1) from the nearby corpse and continue towards the conference room.
Inside the conference room, one more obstacle awaits. There will be three zombies to get rid of and one singer zombie, which is extremely dangerous. To get rid of them, you can also play a cat and mouse game by luring them to you and then jumping over the open window.
Do that with both regular zombies and a singer and get the acid bottle from the back room. Get back to the puzzle box room and witness one more cutscene, after which you'll be able to melt the padlock, enter the correct code, and take the content from the puzzle box.
