There are few things money cannot buy. This is the case in real life, and given that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the latest RPG from Warhorse Studios, tries to be as realistic as possible, it tries to replicate this formula in its gameplay, meaning if you have enough money, there's no problem too big for you.
At the very beginning of the game, you'll be stripped of your equipment, skills, rank, and, of course, money, and if you don't know how to solve this problem you found yourself in, your journey in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will become significantly harder.
In this guide, we will try to give you several tips and advices on how to get enough money at the beginning of the game and even how to earn more than enough and make your life in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 much easier.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - early game money farming methods
There are several ways to earn money in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and most of them will involve dishonest work, or stealing, to be more precise. In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, everything has a price, and what seems junk for you might seem like a treasure for someone else, so keep that in mind.
The best way to earn some serious groschen very early in the game is to steal and sell horses. Even though it might seem like too much work, in reality, it is not that hard. If you want to know how to steal and sell horses, see our guide.
The next method is to steal someone else's belongings from the places that are off-limit. Almost every settlement, especially castle areas, has a lot of restricted areas, and in those areas, you'll find a lot of chests that are easy to pick. Apart from chests, don't forget to check tables, drawers, and closets; you'll find a lot of equipment in such places that can be sold to certain merchants, who will turn a blind eye and won't bother to ask where you get the goods. If you don't know where to find those merchants, check out our guide.
Apart from those methods, doing honest work can fill your pockets too, so if you don't feel like stealing, doing numerous side quests is always a good solution. One of the very easy and straightforward methods to earn money is to brew potions and smith weapons and tools.
Once you learn specific recipes and find blueprints, you can go and pick up required herbs—it doesn't cost a thing—and brew potions and sell those potions to any apothecary in the area. You can also smith weapons using very easily obtainable materials and sell those weapons and tools to any blacksmith.
One thing you must be aware of, though, is that the money doesn't grow on trees, and once a specific merchant spends all his money buying stuff from you, you'll have to wait for several days (seven in-game days, usually) for the money to reappear in his possession—he must do the business of his own. So don't, for example, steal one horse, sell it to a merchant, empty his pockets, and then immediately go to steal another one—even though he wants to buy it off of you, he won't have enough money to do it.
