Apart from being a hardcore RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a survival game too, with mechanics such as hunger and sleep management, and if you fail to maintain either of those, your character might find himself in big trouble.
To keep Henry well fed, you'll need to either buy food or make your own, and to do that, you're going to need proper ingredients, like meat, herbs, and such. Meals made from meat are usually the best, and they will make Henry's stomach full for a long time.
Now, the question arises: where to find meat and how to maintain it in your inventory? Of course, the only way to stock upon meat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is through hunting, and in this guide, we will explain everything concerning this in-game mechanic.
How to hunt in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
As soon as you start exploring the world in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll notice that your map will get updated when you come across a certain spot with a considerable amount of game in it.
To start hunting the game, you'll need a bow or crossbow, and if you don't know where to get one very early in the game, see our guide for reference. Once you have a ranged weapon, all you need to do is locate the game and start hunting. However, it is easier said than done because if you're not skilled enough, you're in for a meatless meal, for sure.
To make your hunting as successful as it can be, you should consider activating several perks first. One particular perk you need to activate as soon as possible is the Ambusher perk, located inside the stealth section. This perk will give you a bonus to deal damage to unaware enemies, which can be extremely useful when hunting larger animals.
Also, one very important perk you should activate before going hunting is the Heartseeker perk, located under the survival skillset. This perk will buff your damage by 10 per cent, if you hit the targer in the body, and since animals are always easier to hit in the body, here is where you should aim.
Of course, the most important advice is to level up stealth as much as possible and have as best hunting weapon as you can afford. Once you meet all those requirements, hunting will become a child's play for you.
One more important thing is that hunting game without a permit is considered poaching, so every piece of meat you gain will be marked as stolen. The best way to remove this stolen status is to either dry the meat or to make a meal out of it because if you keep it in your inventory for too long, it will get spoilt anyway, so once you get the game's meat, hurry up and process it as soon as possible.
Apart from meat, some animals will give you skins as well, usually needed for making weapons. Skins must be dried as well, or they will be ruined.
