In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, your weapons and armour will be damaged after almost every combat encounter in which you deliver but also receive blows.
It's how Warhorse Studios designed their mediaeval simulator RPG in order to achieve a sense of realism and immersion for players.
A well-maintained armour and sword can make a massive difference in combat, so it's of utmost significance that you take care of your gear. There are a couple of ways you can do that in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and in this guide, we'll go through all of them in detail to help you repair your gear.
How to repair weapons and armour in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
To repair your items, you'll have to visit a respective merchant or use a repair kit, which can be found as loot or bought from blacksmiths, tailors and armourers.
Merchants
- To repair your armour or weapons, visit either a blacksmith or armourer. You can find them in villages like Troskowitz, Trosky Castle, camps and the big city of Kuttenberg once you reach the second region.
- Your pointy weapons and weapons with blades like swords and axes can also be repaired by using grindstones. These can be found in almost every village.
- To repair your clothes, visit a tailor, who can be found in villages across the both maps. Tailors are marked with a scissors icon. You can find one in Troskowitz.
- To repair your shoes, you'll need to find a merchant who sells and repairs boots called Cobbler. On the first map, you can find Cobbler in Trosky Castle. In the second region, Cobblers can be found in the city of Kuttenberg and villages Wysoka and Raborsch.
Repair kits
- Use Armourer's Kit to repair your armour pieces.
- Blacksmith's Kit to repair all weapons.
- Tailor's Kit will help you repair your clothes.
- With Marksman's Kit, you can repair bows and crossbows.
- Cobbler's Kit is used to repair shoes and boots.
Best perks to negate gear damage in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has a couple of perks that you can activate to slow down the damage your weapons and gear take. This way, you won't have to repair your stuff that often, saving precious groschen in the process.
- Thorough Maintenance—Your gear will be damaged 10 per cent slower.
- Hardened Steel—The weapons you forge will take damage 20 per cent slower.
Both perks can be found under the Craftsmanship tab under the Skills category.
