In Dragon's Dogma 2, Civil Unrest serves as one of the pivotal evacuation quests occurring in the Unmoored World following the attainment of the true ending. Initiating this post-game mission entails conversing with both King Rothais and Luz, located at the Seafloor Shrine.

As the world faces impending doom, your primary objective is to undertake the responsibility of rescuing as many individuals as possible.

How to initiate the Civil Unrest Quest?

In Dragon's Dogma 2, initiating the Civil Unrest quest involves travelling to Bakbattahl. It's important to note that completing this quest automatically concludes all ongoing missions in the area. Therefore, if you have any unfinished tasks, it's advisable to complete them before proceeding. Additionally, while in Bakbattahl, be sure to visit the Forbidden Magick Research Lab to reunite with your main Pawn.

Upon reaching the oxcart stop in Bakbattahl, engage in a conversation with Menella. She's grappling with various disputes plaguing the city and seeks your assistance. Menella will express her struggle to maintain order amid the chaos, highlighting the challenge of persuading unruly civilians to heed her directives.

In Bakbattahl, three disputes are unfolding at distinct locations:

  • Outside the Bakbattahl Vocation Guild
  • Outside the Pilgrim's Inn in the market area
  • In the Residential Ward, outside Fulvio's Workshop

These disputes are marked on your map for easy navigation. When you're prepared, proceed to each location and address the individuals causing the disturbances.

The Bakbattahl Vocation Guild Dispute

After arriving at the dispute outside the Vocation Guild in Dragon's Dogma 2, you'll encounter a human and a beastren engaged in a quarrel. They'll request that you serve as a witness to their duel. While you have the option to inquire about their reasons for wanting to fight, ultimately, you'll need to observe their battle.

Once you agree, the humans and the beastren will commence their battle. However, they won't inflict any serious harm on each other, allowing you to observe without intervening. After exchanging some blows, they will earn each other's respect and cease the fight. With the conflict resolved, they will agree to put an end to their argument, allowing you to proceed to the next dispute.

The Bakbattahl Market Dispute

This dispute also  involves a human and a beastren. When you approach them, they will ask you to answer who is at fault, and you need to suggest that both parties have valid points. Then, interact with their children and offer them some food. This gesture will effectively resolve their parents' dispute, bringing an end to the conflict.

Bakbattahl Residential Ward Dispute

This dispute takes place near the purchaseable house in Bakbattahl. As you draw near, the men involved in the argument will turn their aggression towards you, expressing anger at your interruption. Despite their hostility, refrain from retaliating. Allow them to strike you without fighting back; their attacks won't cause significant harm. Reacting with violence will be logged as your choice, affecting the quest outcome negatively.

Endure their blows until they tyre themselves out and decide to leave peacefully. Once they cease their aggression, return to Menella. She will express her gratitude for your intervention and advise you to visit Empress Nadinia. Even if she perished in your previous playthrough, she will be alive once more for this quest.

Proceed to the palace and make your way directly to the Empress's chambers. Initially halted by the servants, they will eventually allow you entry. Once inside, Empress Nadinia will consent to the evacuation now that the civil unrest among the civilians has been quelled.

Rewards for Civil Unrest Quest

As a reward for your efforts, you will receive 20,000 XP, 10,000 gold, and 30 Wyrmslife Crystals.

This concludes the details regarding the Civil Unrest quest in Dragon's Dogma 2. If you're ready, proceed to the next settlement and do your utmost to ensure the safety of as many people as possible. The fate of many rests upon your shoulders, and time is of the essence. Good luck on your journey, Arisen.
