We haven't heard a thing about Marvel's Wolverine ever since Insomniac Games and Sony officially announced the game at PlayStation Showcase 2021 with a very short and vague teaser trailer.
It's been pretty obvious since then that the game is very early in development and won't be coming anytime soon but the wait has been a bit longer than PlayStation fans expected and by the looks of it, it will be even longer.
According to the latest information from a reliable insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel's Wolverine won't be coming before 2025, if everything goes according to plan.
Richtman also reveals that Marvel's Wolverine will be much darker and more violent than Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which is something that we expected given the violent nature of Wolverine himself.
It's safe to say that this information is very similar to details that were shared last year by Jeff Grubb, who also confirmed that the game is targeting a release date of late 2024/early 2025 and will feature a mature tone.
One interesting detail that was shared by Richtman is the setting of the game. Apparently, Wolverine will be set in Madripoor, a fictional Southeast-Asian city in Marvel's universe known as a haven for pirates.
Sadly, that's everything that was shared by the leaker. We still don't have any gameplay details or story bits about Marvel's Wolverine so hopefully Sony will finally start providing more information in the coming months.
Marvel's Wolverine is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and does not have a release date.
