Insomniac Games have finally released a statement regarding the most recent ransomware attack that resulted in many internal files leaking to the public, including a fully playable early build of Marvel's Wolverine.
The team shared the statement on social media X, revealing that the team is saddened and angered about the criminal attack on the studio. Insomniac say the whole situation has taken a big emotional toll on the dev team.
They also confirmed that the development of Marvel's Wolverine continues as planned despite the extremely distressing situation for the studio and various game assets that surfaced online.
"We're both saddened and angered about the recent criminal cyberattack on our studio and the emotional toll it's taken on our dev team. We have focused inwardly for the last several days to support each other," Insomniac said in the statement.
The team also revealed that Marvel's Wolverine is currently in early production which suggests the game won't be coming anytime soon. If we had to guess, we'd say that the release date is probably scheduled for 2026 or later.
"...like Logan ... Insomniac is resilient. Marvel's Wolverine continues as planned. The game is in early production and will no doubt greatly evolve throughout development, as do all our plans."
Insomniac concluded by saying that they will share more information about the game when the time is right.
