Owlcat Games seem to be in the mood for religious fanatics in W40K universe as they revealed one that is aligned with the Imperium and now one for the Chaos in their upcoming CRPG Rogue Trader.
Warhammer 40K universe is filled to the brim with religious zealots but two fanatical groups make all the rest seem like godless heathens when directly compared.
The first, aligned with the Imperium of Man are the Sisters of Battle who generally like to go around, killing everything in their path that they consider less than loyal to the Emperor, whom they worship. One of these fanatics, Argenta , will be a possible party member in W40K: Rogue Trader if we decide to recruit her.
On the side of chaos, we have Word Bearers, who are somehow even worse when it comes to religious fanaticism and they are the faction that was most recently revealed.
Their Primarch, Lorgar, was an absolute numbskull that insisted on worshipping the Emperor of Mankind back in the days when he was more than a dusty space travel battery, despite the latter repeatedly telling him he's not a God and religious fanaticism goes against the Imperial Truth .
Upon earning the Emperor's ire, Lorgar switched to worshipping the Chaos, corrupted Horus and that is why everything is ruined for everyone in Warhammer 40,000.
If that little history lesson infuriates you, there will be ample opportunity to take it out on the Word Bearers who will oppose the player's party, or perhaps corrupt the player, in Owlcat 's next CRPG.
