Owlcat Games just love creating complicated parties in their games and it remains true with Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, which is set to release on December 7, 2023.
The reason I say this is that the release date trailer presented a new potential companion who is bound to be cross with the majority, if not all members of the retinue.
It is all because of one simple thing - Marazhai is a Drukhari, a Dark Eldar.
If you are not sure why everyone in W40K lore has it for the Drukhari, it is because in this bleak universe where everyone hates almost everyone else, no one is hated more than the Dark Elder.
They used to be regular Eldar but a long period of hedonism led to depravity, which led to a large number of them becoming so corrupted that they leaned into sadism to feed their twisted desires.
In the present day of Warhammer 40K, Dark Eldar kidnap, rape, murder and torture anything and anyone in their sights, which makes them the universal enemy, on par with the Chaos forces.
After all, they are largely responsible for the creation of Slaanesh and are very much keeping the Chaos deity powerful with their horrific acts. And now you get the opportunity to traverse the systems with one such lovely individual.
Just be ready for party in-fighting and a possible knife in your back. Or one of the eye sockets, who knows what a Dark Eldar might fancy next.
