Owlcat Games offer a tremendous amount of choices in their RPGs and this seems to be the case with Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader as well, with the latest trailer flaunting exactly that strong point of the game.
One of the early examples given in the trailer is the choice between trying to save the population of a dying world or just outright eradicating it, which is quite huge but if Pathfinder games are anything to go by, Rogue Traders will probably have another choice in between.
Eradicating a world is no small feat even in W40K and having the power of Exterminatus signifies the heights the players can reach in the Imperium.
Just like in the universe's lore, the forbidden powers will be quite tempting so one part shows the player's ability to choose between fighting a heretical Daemon Engine abomination, or leaning into heretical powers yourself in order to subjugate it to your will.
There is also the good old question of whether you want to accumulate power for yourself or the Imperium but not all of your actions will go without scrutiny.
There will apparently be an Inquisitor outside of our retinue, who will monitor the Rogue Trader's exploits in the Koronus Expanse and possibly decide or force us down certain paths in the storyline.
It is hard to predict what the game will do once it's released but one thing is for certain - Owlcat have proven themselves capable of delivering a fantastic story with many twists on more than one occasion. In fact, those twists are often of our own making.
Don't miss:
