Ubisoft have officially confirmed that their upcoming shooter Far Cry 6 will be available in 4K on PS5, PS4 Pro and PC in addition to Xbox One X and Xbox Series X.
Far Cry 6, Ubisoft's upcoming shooter, which features Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito, will run in 4K on PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5, despite earlier rumours which suggested that only Xbox One X and Xbox Series X will be capable of running the game in 4K resolution.
We contacted Ubisoft for a clarification and the publisher was happy to provide an official statement. Here it is in full:
"To clarify, Far Cry 6 will be available in 4K on PS5, PS4 Pro and PC. Further details will be available at a later date."
So there you have it PlayStation fans. Fear not, you'll get to take down president Antón Castillo in super-sharp 4K, just like PC and Xbox players. Ubisoft will probably provide more details about the performance target and system requirements for PC as we get closer to the release date.
Far Cry 6 is officially hitting the shelves on February 18, 2021, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia. The game is set on Yara, a Caribbean island which takes inspiration from Cuba.
Yara is ruled by a dictator Anton Castillo, who is played by Giancarlo Esposito. Players take on the role of a guerilla fighter, who tries to take down Castillo's oppressive regime.
