Ubisoft has released another gameplay video for Assassin’ s Creed Black Flag Resynced, letting players see roughly the first 18 minutes of gameplay before its July 9 release.
In the IGN uploaded video, players can get more of a look at the opening of the game and take in the massive graphical upgrades of the remake. The game starts off during June 17 fifteen at Cape Bonavista with the Assassin’ s Creed games’ own pirate Edward Kenway before he is initiated into the Brotherhood of Assassins.
Players are quickly thrown into tutorial sequence and into the fray of a naval battle as Edward captains his ship. Players must dock themselves at the helm and order Edward’ s crew to start firing on an English ship while also trying to navigate the chaos of battle.
Visually, the naval sequences still play largely the same as they did back in 2013, though the upgraded storm effects, water detail, and lighting help sell the action at sea much more than it originally did. Explosions pop off in menus and waves crash against the screen during gameplay adding to the larger more cinematic feel.
After the battle ends Edward and a mysterious hooded stranger find themselves overboard after an explosion ravages part of the ship. Upon making it to shore players really start to see the graphical upgrades Resynced brings to the table. Tropical foliage, densely packed flora, and vivid colors truly make the island pop.
Narratively speaking, things stay pretty true to Assassin’ s Creed IV: Black Flag here as Edward takes a job from the hooded stranger for payment, only to be gifted a piece of Assassin’ s robes that sets him on his journey to becoming one of Assassins Creed’ s most well-known characters. Ubisoft detailed more new features being added to Assassin’ s Creed Black Flag Resynced recently.
One of these is expanded underwater exploration. The developers say players will be able to dive nearly anywhere in the open world and discover new shipwrecks, treasures, and secrets players may have missed when Black Flag originally released.
