Ubisoft has officially started teasing what’s sure to be one of the most legendary crossovers in Rainbow Six Siege history. Metal Gear Solid icon Solid Snake will reportedly be joining Siege‘s roster of operators in Year 11.
After seven years, over 70 operators, and several other blockbuster franchises coming to Siege, this crossover both feels random yet completely unsurprising.
Sam Fisher (Zero) from Splinter Cell can be seen talking into what looks like a codec call in the video posted January 29. “Our window is closing. We only get one shot at this,” he says before the screen cuts away. We see someone clad in a stealth suit, holding a suppressed pistol with smoke covering their face.
A Legendary Stealth Crossover
For years, stealth-action fans have dreamed of Solid Snake and Sam Fisher meeting inside the same game.
When news broke today confirming that both characters will indeed appear alongside each other for the first time ever in Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege, fans everywhere were overcome with nostalgia-especially since Fisher himself had said as early as Ghost Recon Wildlands that Solid Snake had hung up the spy games for good.
Details about Solid Snake’s skill set, gadgets, and place in Siege’s tactical universe have yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft, but expectations are understandably running high.
What We Know So Far
Ubisoft has officially said that more information about Solid Snake’s inclusion in Rainbow Six Siege will be presented during their Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 roadmap showcase on February 15 at 8 AM PT.
In the meantime, we do know:
- Solid Snake is coming to Siege as part of Year 11The leak is officially confirmed
- Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 gameplay will be revealed during February’s showcase event.
What to Expect in Year 11
Rainbow Six Siege is currently playable on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Last year, Siege celebrated its official rebrand to Siege X.
For now, it’s unclear if Snake will be a temporary operator or a permanent addition to the game’s roster, but just having him is a surefire sign that Ubisoft has big plans for Year 11.
