Studio Absurd Ventures, founded by the veteran and co-founder of Rockstar Games, will still develop games, and their first will be a third-person action title.
Last summer, Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games, decided to start a brand new company called Absurd Ventures. At that time, it seemed that she would not be involved in the development of video games, but rather in some kind of mediating business of creative creation.
However, now Absurd Ventures has published a series of ads confirming that they are looking for employees to develop the game. From those job listings and ads, you can also read what kind of game they are playing. It will most likely be a third-person action/adventure title.
It will have several different modes, fighting and shooting mechanics and driving, climbing, jumping, etc. It is desirable that employees have experience working with the Unreal Engine, so it is possible that this will be the tool on which the game will be based.
Dan Houser has left Rockstar Games after 22 years with the company. He is remembered as the main writer of the Red Dead Redemption series, and he had a significant influence on GTA as well.
However, he is also remembered as the guy under whose leadership Rockstar Games was known as a studio that forced overtime and maintained a toxic work environment.
It was recently revealed that Rockstar veterans Lazlow Jones and Michael Unsworth have joined Absurd Ventures. Jones, who previously co-founded Rockstar's production division, was responsible for the creative audio and video content within the games.
