Destiny 2 players are now enjoying the annual summer event once again, with a different EAZ, new weapons and a bonfire that doesn't look like one.
EAZ returns to Destiny 2 once again but this time around, the event takes a different format. Instead of chasing enemies all over the map and then chests that spawn in their stead, Guardians will now light a bonfire and wait for enemies to come to them.
Ironically, the game mode built around a bonfire doesn't have a proper fire. As you can see in the trailer, the bonfire's flames appear paracausal, originating from the Traveler's Light instead of actually burning with Solar flames.
In any case, the fire will be attractive enough to bring waves of enemies, whom the Guardians will need to mop the floor with in order to reap the rewards, which is where the irony continues.
Bungie named the Solstice hand cannon Something New while it's a reskinned True Prophecy, making it not-so-new. The intrinsic perk is quite interesting though and can make the weapon highly potent in PvE. Technically, it's great in PvP too but lacklustre stats and perks will restrict its usefulness.
That said, PvE combinations on this thing are numerous and if you're running a Hunter with Young Ahamkara's Spine, try getting Ensemble with Demolitionist, for pretty good ADS time and almost no downtime thanks to quick reloads that are few and far between.
Solstice of Heroes will last for three weeks, until weekly reset on August 10, 2022.
