It was recently announced that Saros would be coming to PS5 Pro later this year, and Housemarque is now detailing how Sony’s hardware upgrade will benefit the visual and performance qualities of the rogue-lite bullet hell shooter.
On top of previous information surrounding the game’s base PlayStation 5 release, the developer recently detailed how things like improved rendering and upscaling tech will make Saros shine brighter than ever on PS5 Pro.
PS5 Pro Visual and Performance Improvements
Frame rate and improved resolutions are likely the most significant upgrades here as Saros Pro will support improved PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR).
PSSR provides an image that more closely matches native 4K and combined with a higher base render resolution, the resolution upscaling is cleaner even before upscaling takes place.
Performance-wise, the PS5 Pro build will lock into a steady 60 FPS gameplay even during hectic moments of combat. Dynamic resolution scaling is used to keep gameplay smooth, however, the overall picture quality is markedly better than on the base console.
Pixel count isn’t the only thing getting a boost here though, as Saros packs some smaller upgrades to visuals such as improved reflections and overall image fidelity.
Narrative cinematics will play at 30 FPS with larger focus placed on quality lighting, character detail, and post-processing.
Saros will launch for PlayStation 5 on April 30th, 2026. Players who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will be able to play from April 28th.
