Saros

Saros is a third-person action game developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, scheduled to launch on 30 April 2026 exclusively for PlayStation 5. The game is built on Unreal Engine 5, and it follows Soltari Enforcer Arjun Devraj, played and voiced by Midnight Mass actor Rahul Kohli, as he investigates a lost off-world colony on the planet Carcosa, a shape-shifting world caught beneath an ominous eclipse. Development began in 2022 following Housemarque's acquisition by Sony, with the studio describing Saros as the evolution of the gameplay and narrative ambitions established in Returnal, with a budget totalling tens of millions of euros.

The game blends bullet-hell combat, third-person shooting, and roguelike structure, with Arjun's unique Soltari Shield allowing him to absorb enemy projectiles and convert that energy into devastating Carcosan Power Weapons. A key design shift from Returnal is the introduction of permanent progression: resources gathered each run carry over, allowing players to upgrade their loadout, armour, and abilities between attempts. A central hub called the Passage connects runs and houses surviving crew members alongside upgrade tools. The Digital Deluxe Edition offers 48-hour early access from 28 April and includes Enforcer suits inspired by Returnal, Ghost of Yotei, and God of War.
