Sony's next State of Play showcase promises over 35 minutes of reveals, including nearly five minutes of Housemarque's mysterious new title Saros, plus updates from third-party developers and PlayStation Studios.

PlayStation has announced its next State of Play presentation for tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24, featuring more than 35 minutes of game reveals and updates from developers worldwide. The showcase begins at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 11pm CEST, with Japanese viewers able to tune in at 6am JST on September 25.

Saros Takes Centre Stage

The presentation's major highlight will be an extended look at Saros, Housemarque's mysterious new title arriving next year.

PlayStation promises nearly five minutes of PS5 gameplay footage, marking the most substantial reveal yet for the project from the studio behind Returnal

Details about Saros remain scarce, but Housemarque's reputation for innovative gameplay mechanics and stunning visual design has generated significant hype, and we can't wait to learn more about this one tomorrow.

The Finnish developer previously transformed the bullet-hell roguelike genre with Returnal, suggesting Saros could similarly push creative boundaries when it launches in 2026.

Third-Party Focus and Potential Surprises

Beyond Saros, the State of Play will showcase anticipated third-party and indie titles, though Sony hasn't specified which games will appear. The presentation format typically balances known quantities with surprise reveals.

While unconfirmed, industry watchers are hoping for potential appearances from high-profile PlayStation exclusives currently in development. Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the studio's ambitious sci-fi project, could make an appearance after its initial reveal. Similarly, Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine remains a possibility, though none of this has been confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt.

The State of Play will broadcast live on YouTube and Twitch in English, with Japanese subtitles available for international audiences.
