Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time has received a pretty sweet-looking trailer and a launch date - August 21, 2020, on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
If you've been following Jack's lengthy journey to defeat Aku, you've probably been heartbroken with the conclusion - we know we where.
If this is the first time you hear about the game, on the other hand, then you'll love the fact that Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is a brand new story, rather than a reimagining of the existing ones.
Genndy Tartakovsky confirmed it back when we saw the launch trailer , that Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time ties in with the Season Finale, but is another story altogether.
Players will once again be trying to stop Aku, except with more control this time. Jack can master his beloved katana along with several other weapons, including the war axe, war hammer, bow and arrow, and even the gun he uses when he looks for his lost katana.
All the firm fan-favourites from the show will be there - The Scotsman, Sir Rothchild, Scaramouche, Ashe, as well as the ultimate bad guy - Aku. Of course, he will be voiced by Greg Baldwin, who replaced the late great Mako during the show but really did an exquisite job stepping in his shoes.
We must admit that the last Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time trailer looks much better than the announcement one, and we're not sure whether it's because of cinematography or because the development team did more work.
Either way, some of the gameplay angles in Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time look pretty spectacular, and we can't wait to see Jack again. Just a bit less heartbreak this time, mr. Tartakovsky, please?
