Niantic announced Pokemon GO Community Day details for July 2019. The event will kick off on Sunday, 21 July and will follow the standard rules while the featured Pokemon will be Mudkip along with its shiny variants and evolutions.
Pokemon GO Community Days occupy one of the two weekend days in a month and this time is no exception. Some players may have gotten used to Saturdays though but July Community Day will be held on Sunday, 21 July 2019.
As per usual, three-hour lures will be enabled along with triple catch experience to help trainers out with their endeavours.
Mudkip is the featured Pokemon so it will appear more frequently in the wild and some lucky players will cross their paths with Shiny Mudkips. You can differentiate them by their skin colour. Regular Mudkips have blue skin while the Shiny ones are pink. The same goes for Marshstomp and Swampert, the evolutions of the tiny fish-like creature.
Evolving all the way up to Swampert during the event or one hour after it concludes will bestow your Pokemon with a special ability that will be announced at a later date.
Still, previous Water-type Pokemon that were featured during Community Days received Hydro Cannon in similar circumstances so this is probably the exclusive ability Swampert will gain as well.
Pokemon GO July Community Day will commence on 21 July 2019 at 4 PM local time. Therefore, there is no need to convert time zones - if it says 4 PM or 16:00 on your clock, watch or any other gadget then it's probably time to go Mudkip hunting.
Given the recent heatwave across entire Europe, it would be advised to bring water, sunscreen and some headwear along the lines of a baseball cap or a regular hat. This is especially necessary if you intend to go after Mudkips as soon as the event starts, 4 PM is probably one of the hottest hours of the day.
