Niantic unveiled the details surrounding the Pokemon GO event as we head into 2023.
Pokemon Go will have a New Year event running from Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 8:00 PM to Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 8:00 PM local time.
Niantic noted that Pikachu wearing a party top hat will be making a debut and you might even encounter a Shiny one.
Hoothoot wearing a New Year's outfit will now be able to evolve into Noctowl wearing a New Year's outfit.
Wild encounters during the event:
- Pikachu wearing a party top hat
- Hoothoot wearing a New Year’s outfit
- Wurmple wearing a party hat
Seven-kilometre eggs will hatch:
- Pichu wearing a party hat
- Cleffa
- Igglybuff
- Togepi
- Tyrogue
- Smoochum
- Elekid
- Magby
- Azurill
- Wynaut
One-star raid encounters:
- Bulbasaur wearing a party hat
- Charmander wearing a party hat
- Squirtle wearing a party hat
- Pikachu wearing a party top hat
- Hoothoot wearing a New Year’s outfit
Three-star raids:
- Raticate wearing a party hat
- Nidorino wearing a party hat
- Gengar wearing a party hat
- Wobbuffet wearing a party hat
Five-star raids:
- Reshiram
Mega raids:
- Mega Steelix
All the aforementioned Pokemon can appear as Shiny.
Bonuses during the event:
- 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period
- 1/4 Hatch Distance for the first three Eggs hatched during the event using the Pokémon GO Egg hatching widget
The bonuses don't stack.
