Niantic revealed the latest info about the first Community Day of 2023.
Pokemon Go will have its first Community Day of 2023 on January 21 and it will run from the usual 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time.
Niantic revealed that the featured Pokemon would be Larvitar and all the other essential details.
Keep in mind that Larvitar can appear in the Shiny form if you are lucky enough to find it.
Additionally, evolving it into Pupitar and then into Tyranitar during the event or up to two hours afterwards will cause the newly-evolved Pokemon to have the Fast Attack Smack Down with 12 Power in Trainer battles or 16 Power in gym and raid battles.

Bonuses for the duration of the event include:
- 3× XP for catching Pokémon
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day Classic for a surprise
As per usual, you will be able to purchase the exclusive Special Research Story for $1 or the local equivalent. The tickets are not live yet but Niantic will announce when they are, at a later point in time.
Players can also gift the ticket to someone else if they choose the Gift button in the shop instead of the Buy button.
