BioShock fans became ecstatic after the teaser website went live and theories have been flying all over the place. One particularly interesting finding hints at a possible announcement before July 6, 2020.
BioShock's next instalment is rumoured to be announced soon although technically no official statement was released on that. However, there is the teaser website and Take-Two Interactive are the ones behind it so it's almost as official as it gets.
The site has become a source of many rumours and theories on what the next BioShock will be like or whether we are looking at potential remakes. Others attempted to find clues about the announcement and release dates.
It is a member of the latter group, going by AventadorWesley on Reddit , who came up with a theory about an announcement date that seems to have some weight behind it.
Namely, he went digging into the data of the teaser site, finding that it was registered on July 6, 2016. That was two months ahead of the release of the BioShock Collection in September of the same year.
More importantly, the sleuth found out that Take-Two are indeed the owners of the website, making the info official. Following up on what could be scrounged up, AventadorWesley found out that the site was updated on February 3, 2020 and that it expires on July 6, 2020.
It is the latter date that is of import here, since it's highly likely that a proper reveal will happen on the site before that day comes along. Theorising further, Wesley noted that a different site will probably be used after the teaser period concludes.
In other words, it is highly likely that we are due for a new BioShock announcement within a month or so.
