According to several new job listings, the next Bioshock game will feature a new "fantastical setting" and it is coming to next-generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox.
Beloved immersive sim series Bioshock has been on a pause for quite some time now. The last game in the series - Bioshock Infinite - released seven years ago and since then we got a couple of remasters but major, full-fledged titles are still missing.
However, judging by the latest job listings, 2K Games could soon surprise us with an announcement of a brand new Bioshock game. The job listings, which have been posted by Cloud Chamber, a brand new studio, formed by 2K Games to work on Bioshock, reveal details about a new "fantastical setting" and a release on the next-generation consoles - PlayStation 5 and Xbox One.
"We are currently working on the next BioShock," the job listing states . "We want you to help us bring a new and fantastic world to life".
This suggests that Cloud Chamber are working on a brand new setting for the next Bioshock. As you may know, previous games had underwater Rapture and steampunk city Columbia and we wonder where the next story will take us.
The job listing also suggests that the game is built using Unreal Engine 4 but do not be surprised if Cloud Chamber reveal that the development has switched to the latest iteration - Unreal Engine 5.
