LoL Patch 13.21: Upcoming Jinx adjustments
New Jinx changes are coming yet again!
New Jinx changes are coming yet again!

Players can expect these Jinx adjustments in League of Legends patch 13.21, which is scheduled for release on October 25, 2023.

In League of Legends, Jinx faced a difficult period in patch 13.19, boasting a mere 48.4% win rate across all ranks. Her pick rate was equally lackluster, standing at 10.7%, which positioned her as one of the weakest ADCs in that particular meta.

To address the changing dynamics in the jungle and the impact of items on the preseason, Riot introduced changes to revive Jinx in patch 13.20. However, these buffs inadvertently propelled Jinx to an overpowered state, thanks to her passive's stacking mechanics based on takedowns and turret destruction.

Jinx's kit thrives on her ability to unleash attack speed buffs, allowing her to deal substantial, consistent damage during team fights. But her capability to obliterate turrets in a matter of seconds tipped the scales too heavily in her favor. With her win rate soaring to 50.8% and her pick rate spiking to 38.2%, it was clear that she had become a powerhouse.

As a result, Riot found it necessary to dial back this excessive power and bring her kit back into line to maintain game equilibrium.

Jinx's Changes in LoL Patch 13.21

In the forthcoming patch 13.21, Riot will address Jinx's passive ability, "Get Excited!"

  • Max Stacks: Reduced to 5

  • Attack Speed Stacking: Now only occurs on champion takedowns, with a limit of 1 stack for structures and epic monster takedowns.

Players have a knack for finding ways to exceed expectations, and it was only a matter of time before they exploited this. Each stack grants Jinx a 25% bonus to attack speed.

However, it's crucial to note that most players couldn't exceed 5 stacks due to the 6-second duration before losing the stacks. Therefore, capping the stack limit will address only extreme cases.

A more significant change is the second adjustment, preventing Jinx from stacking excessively on towers and epic monsters. Previously, in patch 13.20, Jinx could capitalize on situations like losing a team fight near the inhibitor turrets to take down all three turrets, inhibitors, and potentially even the nexus.
