Expect these changes to be online with the 13.22 patch, scheduled for official release on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

In the realm of League of Legends, Riot Games continues to reshape the battleground of Summoner's Rift, and the forthcoming patch 13.22 is no exception.

After ushering in champion adjustments, jungle enhancements, and various quality-of-life refinements in the previous 13.21 patch, Riot is introducing yet another system modification.

One of the pivotal mechanics in League of Legends is the art of vision management. Players must grasp a multitude of micro and macro elements that hinge on how they control the visibility of their champions on the map.

The System Changes in Patch 13.22

While some aspects of vision are straightforward, such as the illuminated area around your champion, others delve into subtler mechanics. An example is being briefly exposed while out of the enemy's sight.

Reveal Adjustments:

  • Reveal Duration: Previously 4.5 seconds, it will be reduced to 1.75 seconds.

  • Reveal Radius: Previously spanning 400 units, it will now encompass 300 units.

Potential Impacts on Summoner's Rift

These forthcoming changes are significantly skewed in favor of the attacker. They make assailants less vulnerable when exploiting attack-from-bush tactics.

The most palpable effects will reverberate in the top lane, particularly in the melee vs. ranged matchups. Ranged champions like Teemo, Vayne, and Quinn will indirectly benefit from these changes.

The reduction in reveal duration will offer melee champions an even narrower window to orchestrate counterplays, while ranged bullies can now harass opponents from a safer distance, returning to the concealment of the bush if their foes can't retaliate within the 1.75-second window.
