LoL Nexus Blitz is making its grand return in tandem with the Worlds 2023 event. However, it won't be available right at the event launch but will grace us in the second phase.

In the League of Legends, there's a diverse collection of rotating game modes to choose from. Some, like the exhilarating 2v2v2v2 Arena, achieved extraordinary popularity, to the extent that Riot is contemplating a comeback in a few months. However, not all game modes enjoyed the same fortune.

Nexus Blitz is a distinctive Riot's experimental game mode within the League of Legends universe. It initially emerged during Season 8 and made a subsequent return in Season 10.

The release date is now set for October 25, 2023, at 2 PM PT. The fun will continue until November 27, 2023, ending at 11:59 pm PT.

Nexus Blitz 2023 New Changes

  • Jungle Pets: The number of stacks required for upgrades has been reduced, making it easier to advance through stages.
  • Akshan: During events with a ring of fire, scoundrels killed will now revive teammates with 30% of their maximum health.
  • Bel’Veth: Enemy jungle guardians drop an Enhanced Void Coral.
  • Ivern: The champion Ivern joins in the Nexus Blitz fun, but his Friend of the Forest Passive has been disabled, replaced with Enemy of the Forest, allowing him to damage monsters.
  • Item Adjustments: Cooldowns for Lifeline and Spectral Cutlass have been reduced, and Innervating Locket now restores health and mana/energy after using an ability.
  • Jungle Monster Adjustments: Various jungle monsters' health values have been updated.

Background on Nexus Blitz

  • Nexus Blitz first debuted in Season 8 and made a comeback in Season 10.
  • While it gained a following, players eventually moved on due to certain issues with the mode.
  • Riot Games introduced improvements like Events & Rewards in 2021 to make the game mode more fun and balanced.
  • After Nexus Blitz didn't return in 2022, Riot clarified its status and pledged its comeback in 2023.
  • The latest update finally fulfills that promise, announcing Nexus Blitz's return.

How Nexus Blitz Works

  • Nexus Blitz is a Draft Pick style game mode with two lanes (Mid and Bot) and a Jungle.
  • Players can choose to play in either the Jungle or the Lane, and each game typically lasts 15-20 minutes.
  • Random events occur throughout the game, offering rewards to the winning team.
  • This game mode operates during the Worlds 2023 event.

Old Updates from August 2023

  • The Nexus Blitz gameplay remains largely unchanged from previous iterations.
  • Riot Games aims to keep significant changes to a minimum initially to assess and improve the mode gradually.
