Even though he retired after playing for TSM in the 2020 Summer Split, Doublelift has over ten years of pro League of Legends experience. He's a veteran among veterans, and despite his departure from the big stage, he's stayed important in high-level competition.
He's constantly proved that he's on the level with, if not better than, most ADCs who have been grinding away at Champions Queue throughout its active hours.
Yiliang 'Doublelift' Peng, one of the top-performing ADCs in LCS history, is reportedly returning to pro play in a surprising twist comparable to Marin coming out of retirement to coach Team Liquid.
Most people will talk about Doublelift joining 100T, but the rest of the Thieves squad also looks solid.100 Thieves is promoting its young Academy top laner, Milan “Tenacity” Oleksij to the first team.
The support, Alan “Busio” Cwalina is also promoted to the main squad. Meanwhile, jungler Can “Closer” Çelik seems to stay with the team to complete the squad.
On paper, this appears to be a very strong squad. Having said that, the team has a lot of significant voices, so it'll be fascinating to watch how the shot-calling process works. If the five can develop the same chemistry that Doublelift and Bjergsen achieved in 2020, we're looking at a frightening LCS squad in 2023.
While nothing has been confirmed, speculations claim that Doublelift will be returning from retirement to play for 100 Thieves. Apparently, 100T and Doublelift have reached a verbal agreement.
