Kinguin have apologised for the inclusion of unconfirmed information that appeared on the listing of Frostpunk 2. The details have been removed but the game is still available for pre-order.
Yesterday, 11 Bit Studios, the creators of Frostpunk have released a couple of statements regarding the listing of their upcoming strategy Frostpunk 2 on key reseller platform Kinguin. The website where people can sell video games and software keys allowed the pre-orders for Frostpunk 2, a game that doesn't even have a price yet.
The Frostpunk 2 listing on Kinguin also included PEGI rating information, which is something that not even the developers know yet. This was, of course, unacceptable, to 11 Bit Studios, who slammed Kinguin and merchants who are selling the keys.
Kinguin have reached out to us with the official statement, which includes an apology for the inclusion of unconfirmed details. However, Frostpunk 2 is still available for pre-order on the Kinguin website.
"We know there is much excitement surrounding the upcoming release of Frostpunk 2 and want to connect fans with merchants who are offering the key. We apologise for the inclusion of unconfirmed information that appeared in the listing on Kinguin.net in regard to Frostpunk 2. We have since removed this and made it clear to anyone visiting our site that the game is available for preorder only," said Brandon Doerfler, acting CEO and CFO at Kinguin.
At the time of writing, 11 Bit Studio did not comment on Kinguin's statement.
