The team confirmed that all major game features are currently playable and that the team's high priority at the moment is to have external playtests to find and fix as much as bugs as possible.
The global gameplay reveal is confirmed to be coming in early Autumn 2023, while the target release date window is set for the first half of 2024.
Here is the full Frostpunk 2 development and marketing roadmap:
- All major features are currently playable
- High priority to external playtesting
- First press shows on Gamescom and US press tour in September
- Global gameplay reveal in early autumn
- Release in the first half of 2024
It does look like the development of Frostpunk 2 is going well and judging by how long it took the devs to make this sequel, we're getting a really ambitious city-building simulation.
In case you are not familiar with Frostpunk 2, the story is set 30 years after the apocalyptic blizzard storm. You play as the leader of a city that needs to survive and expand by finding oil to keep the fires burning all over the city.
Expect plenty of tough scenarios just like in the first game and hours and hours of fun.
